Coolidge's "Weathers"

a part of the "longwork"

Watten, in Total Syntax (101): "[Coolidge] appears to be out in the 'welter of forms of [...] events,' the events being writng first of all but mimicking a condition as all-encompassing as the weather. Journals kept of weather phenomena were the basis for this section, but observations of 'daily life' and the weather are functionally close at the level of words. The need to repair the typewriter, the word 'Cadmium,' and a dark lowering cloud at 4 pm are equivalent terms of the work"
