Prevost's book in a nutshell, 119: "A new language of music must be developed and evolved through collective exploration. At the heart will be the twin propositions of heurism and dialogue [see separate note elsewhere]. Invention of new sounds, new sonic relations, new human co-operation, in the making of a music that the old bourgeois system will not even be able to recognize as music"
More: "[We] must be prepared to jettison all sound-source material which bourgeois dominated culture refers to as musical, if attachment to these systems of music and their attendant philosophies is to be severed. Particular scales and pitch values will have to be abandoned. New systems and styles will emerge, bound to the needs of the moment, propelled by human ingenuity. Freedom is a performance that must be renewed at every occasion that it is practised."
