We can fight to defend squats that offer emergency housing and radical cultural and educational programs. Many are occupying what the metropolis designates as 'wastelands' and turning them into food producing fields. Others are weaving webs between otherwise individualized balconies and roof gardens to regain resilience and food sovereignty, as Havana has so successfully done over the last 30 years."
